I am trying to find a composer that wrote flute music and is from the United States and has a biography. I am doing some research.

Lowell Liebermann: Sonata for Flute & Piano; Flute Concerto
Robert Muczynski: Sonata for Flute & Piano
Aaron Copland: Duo for Flute & Piano
Lukas Foss: 3 American Pieces; Renaissance Concerto

These are a few that come to mind

Try asking local musicians, music teachers, etc…anyone who's in the music industry. They might know or have connections to one.

The only one I know of is Gary Shocker. He's a flute player that writes modern flute music. Some of it is strickly "modern," but he's also written pieces in a jazz style. His most famous piece of music is the Native American Suite for flute and piano. Good luck!

Robert Dick is a very contempory flute composer, he uses lots of extended techniques.
