I am thinking of learning flute.
For starting, I don't want to buy a really expensive flute, would prefer cheaper priced and of decent quality.
Please recommend, which brand and which model, Thanks!
Some good brands are Yamaha, Jupiter, Gemeinhardt. Armstrong and Blessing. Although some say the Blessings and Jupiter are bad Flutes because they require lots of repairs. But I play on a Yamaha/ Blessings and my students play on Jupiter and I have had no trouble with either! But I would go with the Yamaha if I had to choose one for a beginner!

First off make sure it's closed holed or have holes that have plugs for when you are more experienced (granted open holed are more expensive). I would recommend the Gemeinhardt 2NP Student Flute ($350-450). I started off with a Gemeinhardt. I also like the quality of Emerson, it has a richer sound. It is more expensive though ($530).

Also Yamaha student flutes are very good quality but still not too pricey!

Any brand recommended on this list would be okay for your needs. I personally support the Yamaha, Gemeinhardt, or Emerson beginning lines. You can find the beginner models of all brands on eBay, Craigslist, or Woodwind and Brasswind that are used and fairly low price.
Just make sure not to buy cheap "knockoff" brands that you can't find any information on, or, offer the instruments for less than $200 brand new.

because since you are a beginninger.
it would be hard for you to close all of your holes.
and out line g flute. because it will be a lot easier to reach all of your keys.
but if you want to buy a flute and be able to use it for a very long time, then buy a open hole b foot flute.
and it doesnt matter if its in line or out line g.
anyways, if you buy a open hole b foot flute, then you wont ever have to buy another flute. and if you wanted to buy a open hole flute, then buy plugs with them, then it'd be same as playing closed hole flutes.
