I know they're above $80 or so, Can you also give me certain types of flutes? (Like what they're made of and how much they cost?)
Also, Does anyone know where you can get lessons?
.... to avoid nasty cticism like i have in the past online, YES, i'm a Native American.
whats to get nasty about? you want to buy a flute. now, if you were looking to buy a indian "costume" or get all the non existent freebies we supposedly get..yeah native people tend to get sick of the lies.
you should look for a flute maker near you. the price of a flute depends a lot on the wood used. i know a flute maker who will make one out of pine for people who really want a flute but can't afford a cedar one. if you are interested, i can give you his email address.
see we aren't just bitchy by nature..we are pushed to it.

i bought one in the 4 Corners that was carved from cedar. I found that it just takes practice to play it and the tunes that sound the best come from your heart. I bought mine for just over 100 bucks. it was worth every penny.
I am not Native, but my husband is Cherokee, souix and Creek.

I can only describe mine as the book and written notes were lent out and have not yet returned.
My flute is made of the heart of a cedar branch. Its tone stick is of the same branch. I tuned it with the use of a dremel drill and a piano–now avoid nasty criticism. Oh yeah. I tried to burn out the hollow and ruined three branches, then drilled it out.
On lessons…You should find a Tayazo. All I ever got told was play from your heart and gut.
